Exploring dog friendly Kingston

dog friendly kingston upon thames

Kingston upon Thames is an ancient market town in South West London with a large shopping area, riverside restaurants and easy access to two Royal Parks. Kingston has a plethora of dog friendly pubs and a few restaurants.

It is also our home town so we'd like to share with you some of our favourite things to do!

Poor Boys

Start your day in Kingston with a hearty breakfast at Poor Boys on Kingston riverside. This super friendly place serves Louisiana comfort food and all four legged foodies are welcome.

The Bishop

Kingston Riverside is a great place to stroll along and watch the comings and goings on the Thames. It's also lined with some fantastic places to eat. We doggies are welcome outside all the restaurants and there are a few places that welcome us inside too.

Our favourite riverside pub is The Bishop which has a great outside area facing the river.

The pub always has treats on hand for us and they serve some great pub grub for the humans.

Sticks n Sushi

If you're looking for a sushi restaurant with a difference, look no further than Sticks n Sushi!

The restaurant combines delights from Japan with dishes from Denmark and the combo works a treat.

Pooches are welcome before 6pm and will receive a plate of treats on arrival.

Roz Ana

Roz Ana has been our favourite Indian Restaurant for 8 years, so we were delighted to discover they now welcome pooches at lunchtimes.

Roz Ana means come every day in Hindi - and we definitely could! We particularly love their monthly regional specials menu. So you can travel the whole of India through food!

Pooches are welcome every day until 14.30.

Ocean Basket

Want to try fish and seafood that tastes so fresh you will feel like you're by the sea?

Look no further than Ocean Basket. This riverside restaurant serves up Mediterranean style seafood dishes in a great space right on the Thames.

Four legged foodies are most welcome and the staff all adore dogs.

dog friendly pub Kingston
Canbury Arma

Tucked away on a residential street in North Kingston you will find Canbury Arms and it is well worth seeking out.

The pub is beautifully decorated and has a fabulous courtyard space with most tables covered. The staff here are dog crazy and will all want to say hello to you.

The Canbury Arms is one of our favourite places for Sunday lunch which is always delicious and the humans can never eat it all which is music to our ears!

When we moved to Kingston in 2015, none of the riverside eateries welcomed dogs indoors. The first to do so was Bill's.

Bill's is a reliable place for a decent brunch or lunch and if the weather is good we still prefer to sit on the terrace overlooking the river.

Bill's partnered with Denzel's to offer a dog menu and there is also Scoops ice cream for us.

Megan's is a firm favourite with most London doggies as they have been welcoming us in all their restaurants for many years.

We were over the moon when they opened in Kingston in 2022. We love to pop in for a weekend brunch whenever we can but pooches are welcome anytime in all Megan's locations.

Their menu is described as food from sunny places. So even in the depths of Winter, you will receive a warm welcome and an even warmer belly full of deliciousness.

If you fancy a sweet treat, pop in to Ole & Steen. This Danish bakery welcomes pooches in all their London locations including the one in Kingston Marketplace.

...oh and they do have savoury treats too.

If you are in Kingston it's worth checking out the river and the best way to do that is on a GoBoat.

From Kingston Riverside, you can hire a GoBoat and spend a couple of hours with your pals sailing towards Hampton Court Palace or Teddington.

Check out our GoBoat blog for full details.

If you need to restock on treats during your Kingston adventure then you will find a huge selection at Woofs a Daisy. They have everything from ByBenji to W'Zis and a fabulous range of raw treats and chews too.

You can also persuade your human that you need a new toy or even a collar and lead from Reg & Bob, which are the best for adventurous pups.
