Feeling like Hollywood Stars in Broadway

Updated: Oct 27

Our stay at the wonderful Lygon Arms

The Lygon Arms is a beautiful 600 year old hotel in the heart of the Cotswolds in Broadway where four legged foodies can enjoy a luxurious stay with their humans.

Here's what we thought of our stay.

We were greeted by the friendly staff upon arrival and given a tour of the hotel before being shown to our courtyard room.

The courtyard rooms are perfect for pooches as they are spacious, have no stairs and and have easy access to the gardens.

We were delighted to find some treats for us and the humans waiting for us in the room.

After unpacking our suitcase, we took a stroll around the beautiful village of Broadway which is a picture perfect English village.

The majority of the shops, cafes and restaurants are all on the same road as the hotel and most welcome doggies in.

After our exploring it was time to return to the hotel for dinner which is taken in the Russell Room.

We arrived at our table to find beds, treats and our very own menu waiting for us.

While we enjoyed our sausage casserole with gravy and peas, the humans tucked into some delicious food too. Most of the food served is sourced from artisan providers and growers close to the hotel.

With full bellies we returned to our room and settled down for a good sleep in our Le Chameau beds where the staff had also left us some Sleepy Time treats by The Doghouse.

Humans get some Elemis toiletries left on their pillows but apparently you can't eat that!

The beautiful gardens are perfect for a morning run around (they are 3 times the size of what is pictured here) and have an ornamental maze as well as plenty of grass.

It was a bit damp when we visited as you can see but there is a doggie wash and clean up area in the courtyard so can get yourself presentable before heading to the hotel for breakfast.

Breakfast is also in The Russell Room which is super comfy and spacious. The breakfast buffet is in the main restaurant so humans have to go and bring back sausage and bacon for us. The exercise is good for them!

If you visit as a single person with your dog, you can rest assured the staff will do everything they can to assist you.

We loved the character of the hotel and there are lots of little cosy areas to discover. What's even better is that every time we came across a member of staff, they had a treat for us!

After breakfast we did some more exploring and went back to the Cotswold Court where we found lots of independent shops and a great pet shop where we picked up some Christmas gifts. You can also pick up some doggie gifts at the hotel.

We seem to be followed everywhere recently by giraffes and spotted this one lurking outside another hotel.

Before our drive home we also stopped off at neighbouring Chipping Campden which is another pretty village with lots of dog friendly places.

We could only stay for 1 night this time but if you want to explore more of the Cotswolds, The Lygon Arms is ideally situated to see it all!

We highly recommend a stay at The Lygon Arms as a special treat for deserving doggies.

Some important stuff to know before you visit:

Dogs are welcome everywhere except the main restaurant and spa.
There is plenty of free parking in the hotel car park
The hotel is right in the centre of Broadway
