The Rookery
At the south side of the Common you will find The Rookery, which we decided to try for lunch. The pub is tucked in between a row of shops on the main road (A24) opposite the Common but it is set back from the road and has a covered outside area at the front. Inside is small but there aren’t too many tables so there is room for us pooches to sit, even my larger friends. I particularly liked the staff as they greeted me first and made sure I had water before seeing to the humans. They even offered me a treat from the jar on the bar - well obviously I said yes. It would have been rude not to! Tika, Saffy and I entertained the other the customers by just being our usual cute selves while our humans enjoyed their food.

Rude, bad mannered staff. Would never go there again.

Unfortunately it's only their courtyard and bar that are dog-friendly, the restaurant isn't.

This is our local pub and we love going here as they are so welcoming and dog friendly! Dogs welcome in the bar/ restaurant area and outside in their garden/ courtyard too. The humans say they do really good roast dinners and yummy desserts!

Loved it here! They took us in last minute when we were let down by our booking with Brindisa 2 doors down. We were even allowed to sit indoors. The humans loved their cocktails and food - Turkish twist on brunch! The chefs even made me my own pup friendly bacon and eggs. I saw they offered a fellow pup a doggy bed to use which is a nice touch but I preferred to use my own bag for a post brunch nap.

Well behaved doggos on leads are welcome inside this festive event! It gets a bit busy so I stayed mostly in my bag but I enjoyed stealing some of the humans bratwurst and even got my own puppacino from the bar!
