Poor Boys

Here at Poor Boys, we are a local independent restaurant started by two brothers who were inspired by the city of New Orleans, with the amazing atmosphere, culture and food whose aim was to provide the great Southern Louisiana hospitality in a vibrant and friendly atmosphere. Our food pays homage to the Famous New Orleans Po Boy sandwich as well as some exciting creations based on our favourite New Orleans and Regional Classic American flavours, complimented by a great range of New Orleans Beers, Ales and Cocktails as well as delicious Floats, Root Beers and Shakes.

Poor Boys

This place is tucked away down one of the alleys off the Market Square but is well worth seeking out. It is a small restaurant specialising in American food, particularly the New Orleans region. The humans love the Po Boy sandwiches and the staff are very welcoming to us doggies.

Humans booked a table 2 weeks in advance for us to celebrate my 1st birthday with doggy tapas. We knew that due to the COVID restrictions we would have to sit outside so they made this request on their booking note along with the fact it was my birthday. Our booking was confirmed and we looked forward to going. However on the day, we were driving over to Battersea for a pre-meal walk and the humans got a call an hour before our booking to see they couldn’t honour it as because I was coming we had to sit outside and they wouldn’t reserve a table! They said maybe there would be a table free when we got there if not we would had to wait. Well we got there and it was raining. The only table they had left outside wasn’t covered, I wasn’t going to get my paws wet on my birthday! They said we would have to wait 45 mins for a covered table so we had to go elsewhere as I was too hungry to wait! What was confusing was this table had a reserved sign on it... but I thought they said they couldn’t reserve tables outdoors? Mummy and daddy weren’t happy with this poor customer service and the way they handled this whole situation at all.

Great cosy place for a dog nap! Humans enjoyed the cocktails and snacks. They even got given a special card from the team as they were there to celebrate their anniversary 🥰

Atmospheric old munitions factory turned dining room and terrace pub serving cask ales. Very welcoming for our four legged friends, offering water bowls and biscuits. Doggos are allowed in the large but cosy bar area and on the terrace.

Big shady huts and a huge amount of outdoor space. Bowls for doggie water. Just glorious!

Very good in here, staff were absolutely fab with Maui and gave us plenty of water and a free treat/biscuit when he arrived. They were very conscious of him by the table when they brought our order (which was really good) and several staff members stopped to fuss him and say hello, he had a great time!

The Manor Arms has had a huge refurbishment and looks like an upmarket cocktail bar inside! The Sunday roasts are more relaxed and delicious. Dogs are welcome inside and out but outside is definitely the best. The garden is a sun trap but there's lots of coverings for shady spots. For winter, there's a log burner and overhead heating. The staff loved meeting Harry and bought him some water in a bowl. Harry met a couple of large huskys there so it's great for dogs of all sizes!

A true gem of Little Venice.
Nestled in the Clifton Nurseries, take a tour of the flowers, plants and small gardening shops while you wait to get seated in the conservatory or terrace for tea, lunch or brunch.
Be sure to reserve, it's quite a popular spot in the neighbourhood!

Dogs are welcome indoors and out! Water bowls are also available from some vendors.

Be aware that loud music in the outdoor bar area can be too much for some dogs.
